The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan, a campaign aimed at achieving 100% enrollment in schools. UP CM Yogi Adityanath launched the campaign from Saharanpur, emphasizing the importance of education in building a strong foundation for the nation.

How Uttar Pradesh Changes Its School System

The Uttar Pradesh government initiated the School Chalo Abhiyan in 2017 to improve education for every child. At that time, only 36% of schools under the Basic Education Council met the required standards. The government launched Operation Kavakalp to improve school facilities, providing separate toilets for boys and girls, safe drinking water, smart classrooms, digital libraries, and free uniform bags and textbooks.

Stronger Enrollment Drive and Focus on Every Child

The UP CM stated that the progress in school education has already shown clear results across the state. Over the last nine years, enrollment in Basic education has increased by more than six million students. The dropout rate has fallen sharply from around 19-20% to just 3-4%. The second phase of the campaign will focus on finding out-of-school children, bringing dropout students back, and creating awareness among parents.
