Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Is CBT 1 score used in the RRB NTPC final merit list?

No. CBT 1 is purely a screening stage. Only CBT 2 marks are used to prepare the merit list for Document Verification shortlisting. Perform well in CBT 1 to qualify, then focus all energy on maximising CBT 2 score.

Q.What is the CBAT in RRB NTPC and which posts require it?

CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test) is required only for Station Master posts. It tests spatial reasoning, memory, depth perception, and concentration. Candidates must score a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery to qualify. CBAT is qualifying – scores are not added to merit.

Q.What is the RRB NTPC shortlist ratio for CBT 2?

RRB shortlists candidates for CBT 2 at 20 times the number of post vacancies (category-wise) based on CBT 1 merit. For example, if there are 100 General category vacancies for a post, the top 2,000 General category CBT 1 scorers are called for CBT 2.
