SSC SA IMD 2026 eligibility is highly specific to science and engineering disciplines. The age limit is stricter than most SSC exams (maximum 27 for General), and qualification branches are limited to Physics and computer/electronics engineering streams.

Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan and persons of Indian origin from specified countries with government eligibility certificates are also eligible.
Physical Fitness
- Candidates must be in good physical and mental health for meteorological field station duties
- Postings include remote IMD observatories and high-altitude/coastal stations where reasonable physical fitness is required
- No specific physical fitness test is conducted, but medical fitness is verified at the time of joining
