Step-by-Step Application Process
- Step 1 – One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit ssc.gov.in → Click 'Register' → Complete OTR with Name, Father's Name, DOB, Email, Mobile → Upload photograph and signature → Save Registration Number and Password.
- Step 2 – Login & Application Start: Login with Registration Number → Click 'Apply' under 'SSC Scientific Assistant (IMD) 2026' → Fill in personal and educational details.
- Step 3 – Branch & Part B Selection: Indicate your qualification branch (BSc Physics / BSc CS / Diploma CS / Diploma Electronics etc.) – this determines which Part B paper (Physics or CS) you will attempt in the CBT.
- Step 4 – Exam Centre Selection: Choose up to 3–4 exam centre preferences from available cities (SSC publishes centre list in the notification).
- Step 5 – Upload Documents: Upload photograph (JPG, 20–50 KB) and signature (JPG, 10–20 KB) as per SSC portal specifications.
- Step 6 – Fee Payment: Pay ₹100 (General/OBC/EWS) via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or BHIM UPI. SC/ST/Female/PwD/Ex-servicemen are fee-exempted.
