UPSC IFoS 2026 application is filed jointly with the CSE Prelims application at upsconline.nic.in. Candidates wishing to appear for both CSE and IFoS must select both options during the Part II registration. A separate application with a higher fee is required for IFoS.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Step 1 – Visit the Official Portal: Go to upsconline.nic.in → Click on 'Civil Services (Prelim) Examination 2026 / Indian Forest Service (Prelim) Examination 2026'.
- Step 2 – Part I Registration: Enter Name, DOB, Mobile, Email → Generate Registration ID.
- Step 3 – Part II Registration: Login with Registration ID → Select IFoS (or both CSE + IFoS) → Fill educational qualifications (science degree mandatory) → Enter optional subject choices for Mains.
- Step 4 – Upload Documents: Recent passport-size photograph (40 KB), signature (40 KB), and relevant supporting documents (category certificate, PwD certificate if applicable).
- Step 5 – Fee Payment: Pay ₹200 for IFoS (General/OBC/EWS). SC/ST/Female/PwD candidates are exempt. Payment via SBI Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or SBI Cash Challan.
- Step 6 – Submission & Print: Review all entries → Submit → Download confirmation page.
- Step 7 – Separate IFoS Mains Form: After Prelims result, qualified candidates file a separate IFoS Mains application with optional subject details and exam centre preference.
