RRB JE selection is straightforward: CBT 1 (screening) + CBT 2 (merit) + DV. No interview or aptitude test. The entire process spans approximately 10–16 months from notification to joining.
Stage-by-Stage Selection
- Stage 1 – CBT 1: 100 marks, 90 minutes. Shortlists 15× vacancy candidates for CBT 2. Marks not counted in final merit.
- Stage 2 – CBT 2: 150 marks, 120 minutes. Merit-determining stage. Technical paper (120 marks) drives rank. Shortlists 2× vacancy candidates for DV.
- Stage 3 – Document Verification: Originals verified (degree/diploma, category, age). Medical examination at railway hospitals.
